A blog on decorating the city of Lisbon would be remiss in ignoring the transformation of the city during the festas dos santos populares. In the older more traditional neighborhoods tables are moved into the streets, stages are erected, restaurants set up temporary street stalls and the city parties for 2 weeks. It all culminates on the 12th with the Marchas Populares de Lisboa.
That looks like a great festival. Is it always the two weeks leading up to 12th June?

hi Justine, yes it’s always the first 2 weeks of June. the city is nuts but it’s lots of fun so a great time to visit. It ends (sort of ) on the 13th with a large parade but many of the street parties keep going at the weekends through June. xx
